Services for Phillip Clay, 52, a salesman who for many years officiated at Illinois high school basketball and baseball games, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel at 1300 W. Devon Ave. Mr. Clay died Wednesday in his North Side home. He was a salesman for Leon`s Sausage Co. For the last 20 years he also was a referee at basketball games and an umpire at baseball games for the Illinois High School Athletic Association. He was a volunteer for the Catholic Youth Organization and was a coordinator of its boxing program. Survivors include his wife, Marian; a daughter, Janice Finkelstein;

two sons, Howard and Steven; his mother, Shirley Clay; and a brother.
