Thomas Browne resigned as president, and Walter Alexander has stepped down as chairman of Lyon Metal Products Inc. in Aurora. Alexander remains on the compnay`s board. R. Peter Washington, the company`s treasurer, was elected chairman. The changes came in the wake of last week`s ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Paul Plunkett upholding the virtual takeover of the Lyon Metal board by a group of employees seeking to buy the company through an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP). Attorneys representing the previous board filed an appeal of Plunkett`s ruling, but the new board ordered the appeal withdrawn.
