Services for Joseph Wilburn, 59, a Chicago police detective, will be held at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel at 3232 S. Martin Luther King Dr. Mr. Wilburn, a police officer since May 1, 1955, died Thursday in Mercy Hospital. Mr. Wilburn, who received more than 100 honorable mentions as a policeman, started his career as a patrolman in the old Hyde Park District and later served in the Englewood District. After being appointed detective in 1973, he worked in the auto theft section. Surviving are his wife, Eva; a sister; and a brother.
