The Buddy Delp-trained 5-year-old, avenging a defeat in the recent Shecky Greene here, earned $49,275 for his blistering mile of 1:33 4/5, second-fastest of the meeting.
Big Pistol, the 9-to-5 favorite with an intertrack crowd of 21,832, never really got into the fray and wound up fifth in the 7-horse field.
Winning jockey Jorge Tejeira, invading from Garden State, was ”pulled”
into this victory.
