Michael Nesmith returns with his fast-paced, comedy/music show done in the video style, ”Michael Nesmith in Television Parts” at 7 p.m. Friday on NBC-Ch. 5. Last March NBC gave Nesmith a chance to prove that there was an audience for this type of show. The A.C. Nielsen Co. ratings were impressive enough to warrant the network`s ordering more shows.
Friday`s show features comedian Jay Leno talking about owning a vintage car. Nesmith takes on the role of a 1950s father advising his daughter about her first date.
These aren`t Nesmith`s first TV shows. From 1966 until 1968 he appeared in ”The Monkees,” a show about the rock group. Several years ago Nesmith started producing videos, and in 1982 he won a Grammy award for his ”Michael Nesmith in Elephant Parts.”
