Lt. Gov. George Ryan, readmitted Sunday evening to St. Mary`s Hospital, Kankakee, was listed in fair condition Monday evening and is being kept in the hospital for observation. Ryan, who underwent an emergency appendectomy June 7, returned to the hospital after developing abdominal pains and a low fever, his aides said. Ryan, 51, had been recuperating in his Kankakee home since June 12. His temperature was normal Monday morning, aides said, but he is remaining in the hospital as a precaution.
