Lt. Gov. George Ryan underwent surgery Tuesday to drain an infected blood clot that developed after an appendectomy earlier this month. He was listed in good condition in St. Mary`s Hospital in Kankakee, said Julie Dutton, a spokeswoman for Ryan. Dutton said the blood clot resulted from Ryan`s emergency appendectomy June 7. Ryan, 51, was discharged from the hospital last week but was readmitted Sunday after he began running a low-grade fever and complaining of stomach pain.
