A Downers Grove study on the proposed Highland Woods development won`t be ready until the middle of July, Village Manager Stephen Veitch said Wednesday. The study had been expected to be ready by next week. ”We are gathering more data for this report from so many sources, more than we have ever done before, and it is taking a little longer than the 30 days we thought it could be completed in,” he said. The 42-acre, $250 million project proposed for the southeast corner of 31st Street and Highland Avenue in unincorporated York Township is opposed by many of the area`s residents.
