Don Fehr, the acting executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association, insisted reports Friday that the players have set Aug. 20 as a strike date are erroneous.
”There is absolutely no truth to that,” Fehr said. ”We have discussed several dates, but we will not make a decision until we meet in Chicago on Monday.”
The meeting, which is expected to last no more than three hours, will be held at the O`Hare Hilton and limited to the 35 members of the association`s executive board.
