Last week I loaded up my station wagon with kids and food and headed to North Avenue Beach. We were appalled by the filth and litter all along the beach.
Why doesn`t the city or the park district hire a few of the many indigent unemployed teens we are always hearing about to clean it? If the lakefront can`t even be maintained, Chicago is in worse shape than I thought.
