International Business Machines Corp. doesn`t plan to order more disk drives from Computer Memories Inc. when its 1985 contract expires, the company said. The pullout by IBM would put a large dent in Computer Memories`
business. In the first quarter of fiscal 1986, sales to IBM made up 81 percent of the Chatsworth, Calif., company`s revenues of $50.5 million. A spokesman for Computer Memories said IBM said ”a decrease in their requirements”
accounted for the move. But in 1984 Computer Memories had difficulty gearing up fast enough to meet IBM`s demand for disk-drive memories for its PC-AT personal computers.
