The Flint Hills Overland Wagon Train Trips begin at 10 a.m. Saturdays in the parking lot of Flint Hills High School in Rosalia, Kan., near El Dorado, and end after lunch the next day. There are five trips a year, two in June and one each in July, September and October.
The outings cost $85 for people over 18 and $50 for those younger. The price includes four hearty meals. If people from the Flint Hills came to Chicago for the same amount of time, four meals in a restaurant would probably cost them at least as much, especially if they ate as well and as much as a wagon train guest.
