Control Data Corp., Minneapolis, announced it won`t acquire Applied Information memories, a computer disk storage manufacturer of Milpitas, Calif., and Round Rock, Tex. Control Data had obtained an option to acquire the firm in July, but said that after a review of the costs and benefits of the acquisition, it decided not to proceed.
