Johnny Carson and his third wife have agreed to a divorce settlement giving her 4 of the couple`s 12 residences–plus 3 cars, 75 Krugerrands, a Picasso and $35,000 a month to live on.
The out-of-court settlement was revealed Friday when Joanna Carson was granted a divorce from the ”Tonight” show host.
She was given ownership of the couple`s Bel-Air estate plus three New York City apartments, one at the posh Hotel Pierre and another on 5th Avenue.
Carson retained his spectacular Malibu beach house, an apartment in Manhattan`s Trump Tower and desert homes in Palm Springs, Calif., Las Vegas, and Scottsdale, Ariz.
His former wife, who filed for dissolution of the 10-year marriage in March, 1983, was guaranteed $35,000 a month for 64 months–$420,000 a year or $2.24 million total–unless she remarries or dies.
When she filed for divorce, she sought $220,000 a month to continue the lifestyle to which she had become accustomed.
