As a frequent traveler through Gary, I would like to share William Joiner`s optimism about that city`s ”economic resurgence” (Point of View, Aug. 25).
If it is to become a reputable and successful city, however, Gary must experience residential as well as business growth. I find it hard to imagine that anyone would choose to move to a city where pollution is so intense that it not only destroys the aesthetics of new architectural projects but endangers human life as well.
