Rebeca said dance ”seems to make me feel free.” Alicia said it ”makes me feel excited.” Rachel said she enjoyed ”being able to express myself in a beautiful way.” Carin said, ”Sometimes when I`m really mad about something, I`ll come in and dance it out.” Michael, a tennis player, said he hopes ballet will help his ”balance, strength and jumping for the ball.” On a recent warm, humid Saturday morning, all stood in leotards and tights in the new Second City Ballet`s studio on North Orleans Street, performing before a board of judges in a quest for scholarships to the ballet school. Thanks to a gift from Arthur Andersen & Co., one full scholarship and 10 partial grants were awarded among 15 candidates. Any Baryshnikovs or Kirklands in the crowd?–
