It is a shame that Rev. Jerry Falwell apologized for calling Bishop Desmond Tutu a ”phony” until Tutu apologizes for a statement he made in January, 1985. On Page 3 of Section 1 of the Jan. 26, 1985, morning Chicago Tribune, Bishop Tutu was quoted from Capetown, South Africa, as saying: ”We will not be satisfied with the crumbs of concessions the white man throws at us. The country is ours.” This is a terribly threatening statement by the winner of the 1984 Nobel Peace Prize.
