Since the Bears and Vikings first met in 1961, their games have been hard-hitting affairs. That `61 meeting was the first game for the expansion Minnesota team, which got off on the right foot by drubbing the Bears 37-13 behind scrambling rookie quarterback Fran Tarkenton. The Bears repaid the indignity in their rematch, winning 52-35 at home.
