Services for Lindley M. ”Tom” Sawyer, 90, former superintendent of the 333 N. Michigan Avenue Building and other downtown buildings, were held Saturday in the chapel at 3517 N. Pulaski Rd. Mr. Sawyer, a former Northwest Side resident, died Wednesday in a Schaumburg nursing home. He was a charter member of the Chicago Building Superintendents Association. He also was a veteran of World War I. Mr. Sawyer is survivied by 4 daughters, Mary Ann Johnstone, Ruth Ellen Blowney, Nancy Lou Chiappe and Happy Knutson; a brother; a sister; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
