I couldn`t agree more with Peter Botzek`s article about the reliability of trolley buses when compared with the diesel buses. They were pollution-free and quieter with infrequent breakdowns. I would also like to add that the CTA once operated the largest fleet of odorless, pollution-free, propane-powered buses. Like the trolley buses they were quieter than the diesel buses and you could open their windows on hot days.

It`s too bad that propane engine technology didn`t keep pace with that of the diesel.
