Private services will be held Monday for Robert Lee Straus, 90, an author and retired insurance agent, who died Saturday in his Streeterville home. Mr. Straus retired from Prudential Insurance Co. in the late 1970s after working as an agent for more than 40 years. Before that, he wrote ”The American Remnant,” a book about Judaism in the U.S., and was chairman of the English department at the University of Cincinnati. Mr. Straus is survived by his wife, Ethelyn; two sons, Stephen and Laurence; and four grandchildren. Private services will be held Monday.
