St. Norbert may have been looking ahead to next week`s game with Coe to decide the Midwest Conference champion. The Green Knights were upset 7-6 Saturday by Chicago in DePere, Wis. The Maroons forced six turnovers.
There were no surprises in Rock Island, Ill., where Augustana ran its winning streak to 32 in a row with a 41-3 romp over Illinois Benedictine. Brad Price set the tone for the day with a 98-yard return on the opening kickoff. He also scored on a 3-yard run.
Elmhurst prepared for its showdown next Saturday with Augustana by beating North Central 19-7 in Elmhurst. Bob Sanfilippo scored on runs of 2 and 86 yards and on a 20-yard pass from Mike Wagner. Sanfilippo finished with 235 yards on 32 carries.
Lakeland won the Illini-Badger Conference by beating Concordia 21-14 in Sheboygan, Wis.

Chicago 7, St. Norbert 6–Bruce Montella`s 64-yard, second-quarter touchdown run and Paul Song`s extra point was all the Maroons (5-4, 3-4)
needed. Montella, Division III`s rushing leader, had 185 yards on 28 carries. Mark Binder scored on a 3-yard run for St. Norbert (6-2, 6-1), but failed on a two-point conversion try.
Augustana 41, Illinois Benedictine 3–Shane McCormick rushed for 119 yards and a TD on 10 carries. Augie (8-0) gained 339 yards to 150 for IBC
(4-5). The Vikings had 10 sacks and held the Eagles to 6 yards rushing.
Elmhurst 19, North Central 7–Tim Peck`s 2-yard run was the only score the Cardinals (2-6, 1-6) could muster. The Bluejays are 7-1, 6-1.
Lakeland 21, Concordia 14–Tom Gause (152 yards on 17 carries) scored on a 72-yard, fourth-quarter run. Concordia finishes 4-4, 3-2.
Wheaton 30, Illinois Wesleyan 29–Keith Bishop (27 of 53 for 316 yards, 3 TDs and 5 interceptions) threw a 22-yard TD pass to Jim Jorden with 2:51 left in Wheaton. Bishop then threw a two-point conversion pass to Toby Tatum. Wesleyan (3-6, 3-5) turned the ball over on the Wheaton 7 in the final minute. Doug Moews was 28 of 41 for 329 yards, 2 TDs and an interception. Terry Lovekamp and Ken Anderson scored twice for Wesleyan. Wheaton is 5-3, 5-2.
Millikin 33, North Park 0–Doug Smith caught two TD passes and Nate Smiley also scored twice. The Big Blue (6-2, 5-2) outgained the Vikings (2-6, 2-5) 461 yards to 132.
Beloit 16, Lake Forest 15–Beloit scored on a safety with 4:31 when Avelino Cortez fumbled at the 2 and the ball bounced through the end zone. Beloit`s John Davis had 189 yards and 2 TDs on 39 carries. Each team finished 5-4, 3-4.
Olivet Nazarene 41, Northeastern Illinois 6–Rob Zimbleman (14 of 24 for 243 yards) threw for four TDs and ran for a score in Kankakee. Olivet is 1-6. Northeastern is 1-7.
Knox 16, Monmouth 14–Bob Monroe`s 7-yard TD pass to Chris Bejbl sealed the victory in Galesburg, Ill. Monroe was a school-record 17 of 32 for 159 yards. Each team finished 2-7, 2-5.
Eureka 28, Concordia (Wis.) 14–Randy Dibble caught two of Tony Christiano`s four TD passes in Eureka, Ill. Christiano was 16 of 23 for 214 yards. Eureka is 4-5, 2-3. Mike Majewski scored twice for Concordia (4-5, 2-3).
Grinnell 26, Illinois College 7–Steve Worth ran for a TD and caught a pass for another in Grinnell, Ia. The Pioneers finised 3-5, 3-4. Steve Froman caught a 9-yard TD pass for the Blueboys (1-7, 1-6).
Principia 28, MacMurray 14–John Hinds threw two TD passes and John Butler returned an interception 27 yards for a score in Elsah, Ill. Principia is 2-6. MacMurray is 2-4.
Coe 40, Cornell 13–Ray Lomas caught two TD passes and Tom Myers ran for two scores, including a 73-yarder, in Mt. Vernon, Ia. Coe is 9-0, 7-0. Chuck Hooker threw two TD passes for Cornell (8-1, 6-1).
Other games–Three blocked punts in a row in the fourth quarter sparked Lawrence (7-2, 5-2) to an 18-0 victory over Ripon (2-7, 2-5) in Ripon, Wis. Dan Galante recovered two of the blocks, one for a TD. Mike Gonzalez made one of the blocks and recovered another. Greg Curtis rushed for 130 yards on 42 carries. . . . Dave Weber`s third TD pass, a 43-yarder to Carl Golede with 18 seconds left, gave Carroll (3-5, 2-5) a 27-20 victory over Carthage (1-7, 1-6) in Waukesha, Wis. Pete Baranek had three TDs for Carthage.
