Trail Blazers update–Center Sam Bowie, recovering from a foot injury, is expected back at full strength Friday. Forward Kiki Vandeweghe has been an effective scorer and Kenny Carr has asserted himself at power forward. In the backcourt are Darnell Valentine and Jim Paxson, whose brother John plays for the Bulls. Standout Clyde Drexler, recovering from a foot injury, may play Friday.
Bulls update–John Paxson worked out Thursday and will play Friday. The swelling in his sprained left wrist has gone down. Quick guards like the Blazers` Darnell Valentine, Terry Porter and Steve Colter sometimes give the Bulls` Kyle Macy trouble.
