The game–Bears` second of four against AFC East teams.
The series–Dolphins lead 3-0.
Last meeting–Sept. 23, 1979. Dolphins won 31-16 in Miami. Bears led 6-3 at halftime. Miami fullback Larry Csonka scored three touchdowns in second half.
What to watch–When the Dolphins have the ball, QB Dan Marino will take his turn at trying to beat the Bears` defense. His quick release and downfield accuracy could be effective against blitzing. He gets sacked an average of only once a game. Mark Clayton and Mark Duper are acrobatic wide receivers. Marino also gets the ball to halfback Tony Nathan for nearly 10 yards a catch. Key matchups–Bears` RB Walter Payton vs. Dolphins` RLB Hugh Green. This will be Payton`s third encounter this season with the former Tampa Bay standout.
Dolphins` WR Mark Clayton vs. Bears` LCB Mike Richardson. Clayton is not as familiar with the end zone as he was last year, when he scored 18 touchdowns. He has only two.
Key injuries–Bears: QB Jim McMahon (shoulder), probable. Dolphins: OT Cleveland Green (ankle), doubtful; DE Kim Bokamper (shoulder), DE Doug Betters (knee), both questionable.
