A suspected arson at the South Side headquarters of Operation PUSH was termed ”a terrorist attack” Tuesday by Rev. Jesse Jackson. He said the fire was just one in a series of threats directed against him, his family and his civil rights organizations. Police bomb and arson investigators found two 5-gallon gasoline cans Monday night outside PUSH headquarters, a former synagogue at 4711 S. Drexel Blvd. At a press conference, Rev. Jackson called upon local, state and federal officials ”to bring to bear the full weight of the law” to end such attacks. The fire, which was set against the front of the building, damaged a set of doors. Rev. Jackson said this was the third attack on PUSH headquarters.
