Anne Gallagher, St. Ignatius–The 5-foot-11-inch senior forward was named most valuable player in Division II of the Mayor`s Tournament, pacing her team to the title with 70 points, 57 rebounds and 5 steals in four games.
Trish Ducey, Nazareth Academy–The 5-9 senior forward collected 22 points and 12 rebounds in a 42-39 victory over Immaculate Conception.
Kim Pticek, Argo–The 5-8 sophomore forward totaled 66 points, 35 rebounds and 10 assists in three games as her team captured the championship of the Bloom Tournament.
Lisa Rath, York–The 6-foot senior forward-center collected 17 points, 11 rebounds and two steals in a 64-53 victory over Crown Point, Ind.
GYMNASTICS
Alma Foote–The senior took the all-around (9.06) and balance beam (9.20) titles, helping her team win the Palatine Invitational.
WRESTLING
John Cunningham, Gordon Tech–The senior won the 167-pound championships in the Palatine and Carmel Invitationals, improving his season record to 17-0-1.
Ron Webb, Plainfield–The senior won the heavyweight title in the Normal Tournament with three pins to go 19-2 for the season.
Dennis DuChene, Marist–The senior won three matches at 132 pounds–two pins and a major decision–to raise his record to 18-1. He also helped Marist beat De Kalb in a dual meet, De Kalb`s first loss at home in six years.
HOCKEY
Jason Kaulas, New Trier Blue–The sophomore goaltender played a strong game in his team`s 4-3 upset of Glenbrook South in the Metro League North Division.
