NBC broadcasts the second of two specials about missing persons at 7 p.m. on Channel 5. Meredith Baxter Birney (”Family Ties”) and her husband, David, are cohosts for the one-hour show, ”Missing: Have You Seen This Person?”
After the first ”Missing” special aired in April, 1985, 6 of the 10 missing persons featured on the show were located, including two young Wheaton girls, who were kidnaped by their father.
Wednesday`s show focuses on six missing persons–one of whom has been found since the program was completed. Real and re-enacted footage is used to re-create the missing person cases. The program also shows how computers can
”age” missing persons to appear as they should look today.
The program ends with a nationwide plea for the TV audience to help find 20 additional missing children. A toll-free hotline number will be given on the broadcast for that purpose.
