Maryland`s highest court has temporarily delayed jail terms for the owner of bankrupt Old Court Savings and Loan and his wife. Lawyers for Jeffrey Levitt and his wife Karol were given until Monday to offer appeal arguments on their convictions for civil contempt. Judge Joseph Kaplan of Baltimore ordered the pair jailed after they defied his order limiting their spending to $1,000 a week.
