Bernice Clarke, 66, five of whose sons are firefighters in Chicago and three suburbs, died Friday in Resurrection Hospital. Mrs. Clarke and her husband, both Prospect Heights residents, had six sons and all but one of them became firefighters. She is survived by her husband, John V.; and sons John A. and James of the Chicago Fire Department, Gerald of the Schaumburg Fire Department, Joseph of the Arlington Heights Fire Department, Patrick of the Prospect Heights Fire Deparment and Edward; her mother, Marion Anderson; a brother; and a sister. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 411 N. Wheeling Rd., Prospect Heights.
