Now that the CTA board, in its infinite wisdom, has given us what must be the most excessive and convoluted fare structure in the United States, perhaps it can go a little further:
A 25-cent rebate if one waits 25 minutes or more for a train or bus; a 50-cent rebate if one has to stand an entire trip; a 20-cent rebate if one has to sit on a ripped seat; two free rides if one is left standing at a bus stop while the bus speeds on by.
In the meantime, passengers had better start getting dimes by the roll.
