The U.S. agricultural trade surplus was cut in half last year, reflecting a dramatic decline in farm exports. The Department of Agriculture said the farm trade-surplus, for many years a major contributor to the nation`s balance of payments, fell to $9.1 billion in 1985 from $18.5 billion in 1984.
