Services for Carl E. Nelson, 85, a retired salesman, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel at 5734 W. Diversey Ave. Mr. Nelson, of Waukegan, died Monday in Veterans Administration Medical Center in North Chicago. A former Chicagoan, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War I and a past commander of Commodore Barry American Legion Post 256. Survivors include a son, Dennis Charles; a daughter, Jacquelyn Lee; and a sister.
