Work has begun near Adana in Turkey on the construction of a pipeline that will carry 500,000 barrels of Iraqi crude oil a day to a terminal in the Mediterranean, Ankara radio said.
The pipeline, the second across Turkey from Iraq, will raise Iraqi oil exports from the Mediterranean to 1.5 million barrels a day.
