The so called ”tax reform” proposals coming through both congressional houses represent legislative sleight of hand. True, there is some

simplification of the tax reporting process for individuals. However, a key problem is left unaddressed; overtaxation.

Although less so than most others, we are still an overtaxed society. We`re lulled into a false sense of serenity about the taxes we pay because they`re cleverly divided and concealed. Besides income and sales taxes, as well as a host of other miscellaneous taxes, the increase in corporate tax rates proposed in the new legislation will cause an increase in cost of various goods and services.
