The Tribune should invite Soviet journalists to write regular columns for the editorial page. They are an excellent source of potentially disturbing ideas which could ”wake the king” so to speak, and generate letters for Voice of the people to show whether readers react like antibodies to such foreign agents.
This occurred to me after a Soviet journalist made some remarks on television which seemed to hint at the possibility that the Russians may eventually claim to have invented rock and roll, and that American-style pop concerts in Russia and elsewhere could be called ”cultural imperialism.”
The same journalist recently provoked high government officials into rebuking a TV station for ”legitimizing” his views by letting him say more than they cared to hear. I was disappointed when TV commentators apologized for it instead of pointing out that listeners are too intelligent to be fooled.
