A formal and outraged complaint regarding Commonwealth Edison`s ”summer rates.”

My April 25 to May 22 bill was for $56.49. The latest bill I received for May 22 to June 23 for $114.24 was at more than double that rate . During the period of this latest bill, I did not use my air-conditioner and the bill is more than double the previous bill!

Commonwealth Edison and the Illinois Commerce Commission have the entire rate system backwards and in direct opposition to the law of supply and demand. In the summer, when most of us use more electricity because of air-conditioning, the rates should be lower. Instead, they are higher. This doesn`t make any sense at all. Commonwealth Edison is our only source of electricity and the user-public has no recourse.

Will the Illinois Commerce Commission ever act in the public`s interest?

Will the free enterprise tenet of supply and demand ever be allowed to operate? I doubt it, but I keep hoping.
