Melba Moore returns with her sitcom, ”Melba,” at 7 p.m. Saturday on CBS-Ch. 2 for a limited run. The half-hour show premiered Jan. 28–the same day as the Challenger space shuttle explosion, which meant most people were tuned into news coverage of the disaster. Hardly anyone noticed that ”Melba” was on so CBS got cold feet and pulled the show after one airing.
Moore stars as Melba Patterson, a recently divorced mother of a 9-year-old daughter. During the day, she works as the director of the Manhattan Visitors` Center.
In Saturday`s episode, Melba`s upset because her ex-husband`s new girlfriend keeps giving expensive gifts to their daughter.
