Northern Illinois University, De Kalb, has instituted an experimental program designed to help 25 students commuting from long distances to study for master`s of business administration degrees to use campus facilities. The students, who must own personal computers, will be registered in Compuserve, a computerized network that allows them to communicate with each other and professors from remote locations. They will each receive an electronic

”mailbox” and be part of an electronic bulletin board for messages. The University`s College of Continuing Education will pick up the costs of the starter kits and five hours of free use (about $1,200) for the students. Students must pay for additional usage time.
