I just passed by that hideous Picasso statue in the Daley Center and was appalled that the City of Chicago would have a ”birthday” celebration for a statue.
I pass by there often and regularly see homeless, pathetic people sitting there with all their belongings in shopping bags and nowhere to go. Instead of spending money on a huge party hat, balloons, music, etc. for a statue, couldn`t that money be spent to help the homeless and hungry?
This was truly an example of a sick and lost society, giving a birthday party for a statue.
