Bobby Valiska, a junior, scored his fourth and fifth goals of the season Monday to lead unbeaten Rich Central to a 7-0 triumph over Oak Forest.
Nick Ranieri and Jeff Glaze also had two goals for the Olympians, who won their second straight. Mark Marotta notched a shutout for the winners.
Mt. Carmel 4, St. Gregory 1–Mt. Carmel junior Jeff Juretic scored three unassisted goals, one in the second quarter and two in the fourth.
Cary-Grove 7, Lake Zurich 3–Greg White led Cary-Grove`s attack with three goals, and Tracey Predmore had two goals and an assist.
Crystal Lake South 9, Rockford Auburn 1–Mitch Keck had three goals and an assist, Brad Sniandanko had two goals and two assists and Sean Kennedy had two goals and three assists for the Gators (2-0).
VOLLEYBALL
St. Francis d. Rosary–St. Francis topped Rosary 15-4, 15-4 in the West Suburban Catholic Conference opener. Kathy McCormick had five kills and Jennifer Kohli had four aces.
Sacred Heart d. Fenton–Kathy Metz was 90 percent serving with three aces, Patty Mitchell was 86 percent with one ace and Colleen Mitchell had two aces to lead Sacred Heart to a 15-6, 15-10 victory.
East Aurora d. Waubonsie Valley–East Aurora won 17-15, 15-9 and had 20 kills in 42 attempts. Senior Michelle Parrish was 8-for-14 in kills and junior Jennifer Lemke was 4-for-6.
Huntley d. Marengo–Jenny Miller led Huntley with four blocks and six kills in a 15-1, 12-15, 15-7 victory over Marengo.
Lemont d. Montini–Lemont`s Wendy Wolgan had 15 service points, seven of which were aces, in the 15-9, 13-15, 15-13 victory.
