An out-of-court settlement for $700,000, believed to be the largest in a wrongful-death case in Lake County, was approved by a Lake County judge Wednesday. The suit was filed in 1985 by a 43-year-old Highland Park woman who alleged that her doctor, Bernard Kaye of Highland Park OB-GYN Associaties Ltd., failed to diagnose her ovarian cancer ”in a timely fashion,” said her attorney, Patrick Salvi. She died in January.
