The Hoffman Group Inc. has begun sales of Ashley Woods townhouses with the recent opening of a sales office in west suburban Westchester.

The 105-unit complex is being built on a 16.3-acre wooded parcel set back west of Wolf Road between 22d Street (Cermak Road) and 31st Street. The townhouses will be grouped in 23 buildings, containing from three to six units, and overlooking a lake. More than 50 percent of the site will be open space.

Five two-story plans, ranging in size from 1,525 to 1,891 square feet, are base-priced during preconstruction from $132,990 to $160,990.

The townhouse styling features traditional brick exterior elevations with staggered roof lines, two-story Palladian (arched) windows, bay windows, skylights, breakfast nooks, vaulted ceilings, lofts overlooking foyers and living rooms, angled walls and stairways, country kitchens, fireplaces and private patios.

Ownership of the townhouses will be fee simple, meaning the land as well as the home is owned by the buyer.

Landscaped grounds will be maintained by a homeowners` association. Projected monthly assessments will average $60.

Five furnished models are expected to be ready for display next March, and the first townhouses will be available for occupancy next spring, Russo said.

Each two-story townhouse includes a formal entry foyer, vaulted ceiling in the living room and master bedroom, formal dining room, eat-in kitchen and laundry room. All have optional basements.

Standard features include fireplaces, wall-to-wall carpeting in main living areas, ceramic tile foyer floors, wood stair railings, 6-foot-long spa tubs in master bathrooms, private patios, vaulted ceilings, vinyl sheet flooring in kitchens, continuous-cleaning gas ovens and ranges, dishwashers, garbage disposers, hook-ups for washers and dryers, and storm windows and screens.
