–Orders and shipments for U.S. and foreign semiconductor manufacturers in the U.S. market increased slightly in September, the Semiconductor Industry Association said. Average monthly bookings, or orders, for the three-month period ended in September reached $676.1 million, 2.4 percent higher than the figure in August, but 17.2 percent below the most recent high of $816.2 million that was set in April.
