The Detroit Free Press and Detroit News have hired a Chicago outplacement firm, Jannotta Bray & Associates Inc., to help employees who may lose their jobs if the papers` proposed joint operating agreement is approved by the federal government. Free Press Publisher David Lawrence Jr. said the firm was hired before the agreement was approved because ”we are trying to lessen the uncertainty about people`s futures.”
