The Benchmark retirement community at Poplar Creek in northwest suburban Hoffman Estates has opened its information center and a model apartment home. Developed by Benchmark Leisure Living Centres, the project has 253 studio, one- and two-bedroom suites and is affiliated with both First Health Care Associates Ltd. and the University of Illinois College of Medicine. The facility provides an independent lifestyle for active seniors.
Services include a staff concierge, housekeeping and personal service, dining room with waitress and a kitchen capable of catering to special dietary needs, a variety of social and recreational opportunities and a golf course setting, said Shael Bellows, president of Benchmark.
Monthly service fees include all, continental breakfast and dinner, all recreational facilities and social activities and services such as banking and housekeeping.
The Benchmark is located at 1515 Barrington Rd. just north of Golf Road
(Ill. Hwy. 58).
ARLINGTON UNITS NEAR SELLOUT
The 76-home Northgate subdivision in northwest suburban Arlington Heights is nearing sell-out, with only 13 homes remaining to be sold just four months after models opened, reported Norman M. Hassinger Jr., president of the Hoffman Group Inc., developer.
The project was nearly 50 percent sold before models opened in late May 1986, Hassinger said that, although Hoffman could easily sell more than the 76 homes planned, there is no land immediately adjacent to accommodate additional development.
Among the remaining 13 homes at Northgate are three display models which will be sold for $205,990 to $239,990 with all attached decorative features including draperies, light fixtures and appliances. Other home styles are priced from $156,990 to $189,990.
Northgate is off Windsor Drive, just south of Hintz Road.
NEW PHASE OPENS
The Commons of Surrey Woods, Anden/ESR Corp`s. townhouse community in northwest suburban Streamwood, is moving into its fifth. A total of 222 two-bedroom units is planned in 10 phases. Although furnished models are not scheduled to open until January, sales have already passed 80 units. First move-ins are also expected early in the new year.
Units are designed so no resident family lives above or below another. All townhouses have attached garages with direct entry to the home and individual private front entrances.
Three homestyles range in size from 1,240 to 1,520 square feet and in price from $76,990 to $91,990. All of the townhouses are available with basements as options, which also include woodburning fireplaces, central air conditioning, refrigerator and washer/dryer.
The Commons of Surrey Woods is located on Illinois 59 one block south of Schaumburg Road in Streamwood.
FOUR MODEL HOMES OPENED
Four decorated models are now open at Winchester Estates, 91 single-family homes to be built on 34 acres by Red Seal Development Corp. in north suburban Libertyville. Located west of Butterfield Road on Winchester Road, the project`s homes range in size from 2,740 to 3,687 square feet and in price from the $190,000`s. Four floor plans, designed with traditional, contemporary or rustic exteriors, feature three and four bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Thirty- six homes already have sold.
