What are we going to do with all the monies we will receive on our Social Security raise of $6 a month? Well, our politicians in Washington decided that this tremendous increase was too much for a senior citizen to handle. So they knocked off $2.50 a month by raising the Medicare program, leaving $3.50 a month. Now wait until Commonwealth Edison and Peoples Gas get into the act, and God forbid that we spend a day in the hospital; that`s $520.
No senior citizen begrudges the $2,000-$3,000 annual raises the teachers, police and firemen receive; they deserve them. But, the bills and prices remain the same for everyone, so why ask the senior citizen to even attempt to stay alive with his $3.50 monthly increase?
