I was appalled to read in The Tribune (Oct. 14, Chicagoland Section)
about the actions of the (apparently) spoiled junior high students in Hinsdale who caused a scene demanding their ”free catered lunch!” While the film company may have reneged on their promise of a free lunch, the students–all too young for traditional part-time jobs–each received $50 for less than six hours work. I am sure there are many people in the metro area, including a great number of adults, who would have been thrilled to earn that much money on Monday.
These children obviously do not know nor appreciate the value of a dollar, and how many fast-food lunches they can purchase with $50! Next time, the film company should consider locations within Chicago itself, where the ”extras” may not be so arrogant and unappreciative!
