Barb Blizzard, Richards–Blizzard, a Tribune all-state selection, had 15 kills during the Bulldogs` 15-11, 15-1 victory over Palatine in the Class AA state championship match.
Michelle Kohler, Richards–Kohler, a sophomore, served 10 straight points in the title match, including four to close out the first game and the first six points of the second.
FOOTBALL
Andy Gasbarro, Marian Catholic–The senior fullback carried 45 times for 247 yards and scored on a 25-yard run in a 24-10 Class 5A victory over Peoria Richwoods.
Demar White, Mt. Carmel–White, a senior, scored three TDs and ran for 190 yards to lead the Caravan to a 35-22 5A victory over Hinsdale Central.
SWIMMING
Mindy Lauchle, Downers Grove South–Lauchle, a freshman, won the diving at the Downers North sectional with 432.35 points.
Lisa Puccinelli, Oak Park–She was named the top swimmer at the Hinsdale Central sectional after winning the 200-yard medley in a school record 2 minutes 14.31 seconds, winning the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.12 and leading off the 200 medley relay.
