A new, aspirin-like drug may be more effective than morphine in relieving post-surgery pain, tests at Northwestern University indicate. The experimental medication, ketorolac tromethamine, proved both safe and effective among 155 patients recovering from major surgery, Dr. Dorene A. O`Hara reported at the annual meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. Because it is not a narcotic, the drug may not have the addictive potential of morphine, O`Hara said.
