Bob Greene`s article of Nov. 11 is entitled ”Condoms: They`re a joke no longer” and ends with, ”One thing is certain. The snickering is over.” In between he describes the renaissance of a method of birth control, now applied to the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.
I find it curious, though, in Greene`s and many other`s statements on this subject, that no mention is ever made of abstinence before, or faithfulness within, marriage as a means to control sexually transmitted diseases.
